EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION PROGRAMME
C P Goenka International School's Early Childhood Care and Education Programme is designed to prepare the trainee-teachers to play a nurturing and supportive role in the facilitation and scaffolding of children's learning in the early years.
Early childhood education concerns with the education of young minds from the age of 0-8 years. These are the most critical years of a child's life since development takes place at a rapid phase during these years. In this phase, small children must be exposed to variety of life experiences which stimulate their learning to the optimum. There must be a learning environment, which is joyful, safe, experiential and developmentally appropriate.
This course aims at training “Quality teachers for Quality Childcare”.
Programme Objectives
C P Goenka International School's Early Childhood Care and Education Programme is a comprehensive and experiential course, which integrates child development theories into practice, and prepares trainee- teachers to work in the early childhood industry or related fields.
The objectives are:
- To impart knowledge to trainee-teachers regarding growth, development and learning process of young children.
- To enable trainee-teachers to transfer education philosophies and child development theories into practices.
- To help trainee-teachers design, implement and evaluate learning environments and classroom activities based on the Pre-school education curriculum framework and desired outcomes.
- To develop the requisite inter-personal skills set of the trainee teachers to empower them to collaborate with parents, colleagues and other professionals.
- To develop understanding of the importance of safety aspects in the development and care of young children.
- To empower the trainee-teachers with basic health and nutritional aspects related to young children.
- Course Duration : 1 Year (June to April) (Theory, Classroom Exposure and Internship)
- Batch Timings : Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM / 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM
- Eligibility Criteria :
- No age bar. The candidate should be physically Fit and should be able to perform the tasks and activities expected in an Early childhood care setting.
1. HSC (Class12th) with minimum 50% pass percentage or a Graduate in any stream.
2. Good English verbal and written communication skills.
