PINK is not a GIRL COLOUR and BLUE is not a BOY COLOUR!

Celebrating International Women’s Day at CP Goenka, one of the best international school in Mumbai, we strongly believe that it is time we actively become “Powerful Agents of Change” to put an end to stereotypes and gender bias.

This year’s theme for IWD, #EachforEqual, in fact aligns with everything we at our schools stand for. From every student learning how to change tyres and light bulbs, to involving our students in the D-I-Y or Do it Yourself program where they learn the art of cooking and sewing, we have since day 1 ensured that our kids are miles away from the stereotypes of gender inequality. It is practices like these that makes CP Goenka the best international school in Thane, Pune and Mumbai.

By celebrating International Women’s Day, we are nurturing this and celebrating the wonders women are achieving in every field. A day to encourage Women Leadership, Women in Innovation, Women in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math), converse to traditionally these being fields that weren’t as welcoming for women.

Why limit the colour Pink to just girls and the colour blue to boys? While buying toys, why stop at the doll aisle for daughters and at the football section for sons? Stopping this right from the cradle is essential, as these have proven to instill traditional gender roles in society for the longest.

As educators and leaders of the next generation and being one of the top international schools in Pune, we want to ensure that every child is actually a propagator of the idea of Each for Equal. Equality is everyone’s right, and in the realm of education, we are actually lucky to be the change drivers to build on and inculcate the idea of everyone being equal.
